Children's Parade: A Yearly Adventure

We went to the Neiman Marcus Children's Parade on Saturday. It's one of the traditions we've had for about 7 or 8 years. It's fun to watch each of the munchkin and how much they've grown since the previous year. The tiny munchkin did the princess wave during the entire parade. (I was told she learned it from her mommy, but that's just gossip!) It's possible that the little one was still waving while she took her nap. This is the first year that all four munchkins drank the hot chocolate that I made as part of this traditional event. (Pappy gets the donuts, because there is nothing better than sugared-up kids at a parade.) A good time was had by all!

Be sure to take time during this busy season to spend time with your friends, family, spouse, kids and grandkids. Hustle and bustle can probably not be easily avoided, but we never know what a year may bring, and next year we may not all be around to enjoy each other. Give the kids memories of fun times that include YOU, not just getting a bunch of packages under the tree. And most importantly, make sure they remember that we are celebrating the greatest, most amazing gift of all: God's gift of His only Son......who gave up all He had to come to this broken, painful, sinful world so that we could be made right with God.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
